Checkseismic
Checkseismic is an innovative service in Portugal, performed by specialized technicians that take advantage of the most recent methods for the assessment of the seismic resistant capacity of the buildings.
The final diagnosis allows you to have a seismic risk classification that involves parameters like life safety and economic loss associated to the damage induced on the building by an earthquake.
Checkseismic can be used on any type of building and provides you a detailed report that aims to identify the anomalies that may have a big influence in the safety factor.
The service always comes with an inspection survey that has two main goals:
- Structural Characterization of the Building;
- Identification of any anomalies that may have an important role on the main structural response of the building when facing a seismic event;

BASIC
Level BASIC
The first level of evaluation is strictly applicable to masonry structures.
Its formulation is based on the application of a scientific method that has an empirical background on the evaluation of critical pathologies that have a strong influence in the collapse prevention.
The evaluation through this level is extremely expedite since it’s based on a typological classification of the structure, providing an estimation of the economic loss induced by the damage that occur in the building.
BASIC+
Level BASIC+
This level complements the previous one, and for that reason is also only applicable to masonry buildings, adding a detailed quantification of the vulnerability index.
It assumes the same evaluation process than level Basic but with the enhancement of providing a much more detailed analysis of the existing anomalies and reinforcement recommendations.
ADVANCED
Level Advanced
It takes advantage of a numerical model to run a structural analysis in order to provide a better estimation of the structure’s real behaviour when facing the specific seismic excitation for the area where the building is located. Based on a scientific method that is currently being applied in several countries, it’s the most complete assessment of the response of any type of building typology.
Presupposes a more extensive survey inspection which aims to get valuable information about the resistant properties of the several materials that constitutes the structure. Besides the seismic risk classification and respective economic loss estimation, it also provides a life safety index that is translated by a detailed parameter to measure the probability of collapse.
